A hug in a Mug with a Scrappy Ending

It’s a grey January morning. My hands need to hug a mug but which one?

Is it a blue mug depicting a light house? Perhaps it is a white mug with a saying? No this morning requires a solid mug where my hands can wrap around a mug for warmth.

I think I have this conversation with myself every morning when it comes to choosing the mug for that first cuppa. Some mornings that cupa consists of tea while other mornings a mug of coffee is a definite must. I find, if I am having my first cuppa outside and watching the world wake up I need a strong earthen ware mug with a strong handle.

That saying “a hug in a mug” I really do believe it is true so the choice of mug is really important.

There is also something else equally as important and that is the mug coaster or mug rug. Today it being so grey a bright coaster is called for. The coaster you see here in the photo was made by talented husband. It is made up of scraps of glass. I love the choice of colours and the way the glass has not toally fused together.

He doesn’t like waste and loves to work out ways of using his glass scraps. I am always delighted when he is experimenting with new scrap ideas because I will invariably receive a new coaster, plate or dish.

I love using scraps of yarn , fabric, and back in the day paper and card. So I love to receive these unique glass items. If you are interested in seeing some other crafters and how they use scraps why not pop over to some of these great sites.
