Grey
Those grey skies can really have an impact on a person’s mood. It is not a grey which indicates a shower of rain. Rather it is a grey that saps the colour from all around.
At least it tries to sap the colour. However the autumn coloured trees along the N11 were not giving in to those grey skys. Their colour sang out even more so. It was as if they were saying “you canot touch us”. It was a sight to gladden any heart.
This morning heralded more grey skies and a continuous rainfall. It called for a few recipes books and the start of the Christmas baking lists. I am in my hapy place reading Christmas recipies and planning.
A quick run to purchase cherries and this afternoon the house will have those Christmas smells of spice and Guinness while the puds soak before steaming tomorrow.
If you also enjoy the Christmas planning and it makes you feel good then plan away. If however the thought of it is too much then ignore but find something which brings a smile to your face.
No matter what it is: a book, a grandchild, the soft rain falling on an upturnes face, curling up and getting lost in a book. Perhaps shouting at a screen as you urge your favourite football or rugby team on. No matter what it is which brungs you joy enjoy it.
