Letter Writing

Did you know that April has been designated as “Letter Writing Month”. Now I am not too sure who designates these ideas. I don’t know who decides which month should be assigned what particular activity. The theme though for April I can definitley adhere to.

You see I love to receive a card or a letter. I love to hear the rattle of the letter box and as most bills now are paid and received online there is usually the hope that the letter will produce something nice.

Christmas just would not be the same without Christmas Cards. I love sending them and receiving them.

I used to be a regular letter writer but I have to admit it is something which has fallen by the wayside. I occassionaly send a letter to an “E friend” in Canada rather than an email.

Recently I met someone who writes to a different person on a monthly basis. I thought it was a lovley idea and I intend to start letter writting again this month. The cost of postage is high but a book of international stamps will see me through the year.

Now I will have to find some notelets. Do you remember notelets? Do you remember scented note paper with matching envelopes? How about the international sheet of writing paper which would then be folded into the shape of an envelope?

A trip to my favourite bookshop I think is called for. If they have stopped selling boxes of notelets I know there are one or two other shops nearby who will definitley have them.

I think my new bus pass will get an airing in order to start on my month’s letter writing.
