I am still removing documents from my “Just in Case” file on my pc.
I thought It would be an easy job but no. Memories have been triggered and in some cases I dither as to actually deleting an item. There is this thought lurking in my head that if I delta an item I will need it in a few months time. Oh my word bu that brain is a powerful engine.
I came across a quote which I had written down on a scrap of paper. It has set me thinking. this is the quote I found.
“Talking about my problems can be an addiction. Break the habit.Talk about my joys.”
Is this part of the Irish Way?
Just one thing. This refers to ordinary everyday encounters. It is not talking, nor am I, about the times when we need to discuss our problems with a close friend or a family member or a professional.
This is all about the times when we meet acquaintances or fracquaintances. Perhaps on the street or that occassional coffee. They start the conversation with “How are you?”
Perhaps we don’t need to dwell on the negative but we do need to lighten the tone by talking about our joys. Perhaps everyone doesn’t need to know all about our worries and woes?
I know for me a pop of joy makes me feel lighter and more able to deal with things.
