A Mini Skirt? Really?
Finding a crochet pattern is harder than I thought. I suppose it would be a tad difficult when I don’t know what I am looking for.
I like to have a few projects on the go but I have found it difficult to see a project which actually inspires me.
During the lock down I mastered corner to corner blakets or throws. Totally enjoyed making them but since? No nothing that has absorbed me.
I enjoy watching TV especially major sports events but at the same time I like to keep my hands occupied so I am on the look out for a repeating pattern tomake something.
I have been messing arounf making capelets. It is fun trying to crochet something totally new or at least new to me. Some people call then ponchettes, some call then capelets I call them snuggles.
Does it happen to you that caome the late evenings of Autumn that you need an extra layer around the shoulders but you don’t want a jumper neither do you want a wrap which constantly has to be put into place? Or you are crafting anf you need an extra layer but the hands need to be free?Well this is where the ponchette comes into play.
I was first introduced to it by a friend of mine who is an amazing knitter. She very kindly made one for me as a present for a fellow crafter. Don’t you love it when crafters can look out for each other. Having seen Únas amazing ponchette it set me thinking that perhaps I could look at making one in crochet and using cotton.
When I finished my first capelet I was asken by one of the men in my life why was I making a mini skirt!!!!!!!!!!! Have a look at the photo above, what do you think? Capelet or mini skirt? It really is all in the eye of the beholder.
So that is my crochet journey at the moment. How is your’s going? Anything exciting on the hook?
