Bang, Splat, Mess

I was looking for a new project in time for the Tokyo Paralympics 2020 starting next Tuesday, 24th August.

I completed a crochet blanket during the Tokyo Olympics 2020 a few weeks ago but I wanted something different. Also during the lockdowns a number of blankets were completed so I needed something different.

Now, there I was browsing ravelry lost in the world of patterns and seeing so many wonderful ideas. There were so many options.

Can I put a note of warning here though. If you are going to research patterns or projects don’t put a pot on the stove to boil.

I had finally narrowed down my search and I was getting excited when there was an unmerciful bang, followed by a crash. I made my way to the kitchen. Turning off the ring I found the saucepan was burnt dry while the handle was red hot.

I looked up to put on the fan when I was hit in the the face with remanants of a boiled egg which gravity was now pulling off the ceiling. Burnt hard boiled egg is not pleasant. In fact it absolutely stinks. It does nothing for the hair either.

The motto here is don’t leave an egg you wish to boil unattended. what is that saying “Never turn your back on milk to boil”. Well I think aggs can be added to that adage.
