Where Did It GO?
I really do not know where it went to, but I did write a blog post for Monday 4th. I wrote it over the weekend but perhpas I never saved it. That could easily be the reason!!!
Is this a sign that memory is going? I am hoping not but then again my memory has never been the best. I was talking about how poor my memory was and she suggested a book to me.
“Dancing by the lLight of the Moon” by Gyles Brandreth. It is a collection of poetry. Now I love poetry but I have never been able to learn a poem and the a few days later be able to quote frrom the same poem.
“Dancing by the lLight of the Moon” by Gyles Brandreth. It is a collection of poetry. To quote the author “this book is about the power and the importance of poetry”. He goes on to say that learning poetry as an adult improves the memory and “increases your brain capacity”.
I did start to learn the poem “The Owl and the Pussy-cat” but it fell by the wayside. However, after missing the the blog post and not remebering my favourite author’s names I decided that I would really give this a good try. So today is day one and I am going to start on the poem “How Pleasant to Know Mr. Lear” by Edward Lear.
I am excited but a littl wary but perhaps it will help me to remember the lyrics of songs now that I am joining a local community choir. but thats for another day. I will let you know how learning poetry as an adult with the help of Gyles Brandreth turns out.
Are you into poetry? Do you enjoy reciting or quoting poetry?
