R U OK?
Thursday was National R U Ok? Day
What an important question to ask someone. But, has it become a trite question where we actually don’t hear the answer.
Sometimes it is the way or the tone used to asnwer R U Ok which can give an indication of how a person really is.
The one answer I hate to hear if “Fine” or “I am fine”. Such a blah word. It means nothing and it can become a rote answer.
We don’t have to tell the world and his mother all our toubles or all our joys. There is s weird reaction though when we begin to think about the answer to “Are You Ok?”
At times when we respond with an honest answer, we realise that perhaps things are not too bad. It is good to acknowledge and celebrate when we are having a good day. It’s only sometimes when we honestly answer the question that we find yes things are ok.
A lot of emphasis has been put on us to ask the question R U OK? but there is also a need to think of the aswer and in so doing we are acknowledging that some has taken the time to ask the question and listen to the answer.
