Spring or Is It?

In Ireland Spring starts on February 1st St. Brigid’s Day. Then the meterological spring is March 1st. Then there is the astronomical spring which atarts on March the 20th.

I am a follower of the astrological year. The hardests months I think weather wise are from Christmas Day til St Patrick’s day living in the northern hemisphere. Traditionally St Patrick’s Day in Irleand saw the start of the potato planting season.

So although many are planning what they are going to be growing in their garden’s I am still hunkering down and waiting for spring to come. There is still time left in Winter. These winter mornings are beautiful. The light is beginning to appear earlier and that first cuppa sitting on the back step seeing the early morning light with the backdrop of the hum form the motor way is realy special. Slightly sheltered beside a wall early daffs are beginning to peep through.
