Summer Solstice

Why is the Summer Solstice such a magical day?

There is something really special seeing the sunrise on the 21st June. However the Solstice this year starts at sunrise on the 20th June at 4.57 am. and sunset at 9.57

there will be 17hours of daylight. Can you imagine 17 hours of daylight.

The Summer Solstice is one of the eight scared days in the Irish Celtic Tradition. It is associated with new beginnings. It is a time for reaccessing and perhaps finding the courage to start that dream which has always been hovering. Perhaps a time to consider what is no longer important and to remove it.

It is also a time a quiet celebration of what is good and what gives joy in life. What makes life good and to celbrate it.

Traditionally during the solstice food showing the various colours of the sun are served at a meal during the solstice together with grains and herbs.

Colour of sunsets?

Wishing you the joy od the summer solstice if you are reading this in the northern hemisphere. If you are in the southern hemisphere wishing you the joy of the winter solstice.
