The Smell of Rain

It was just so special sitting on the back step with that hint of rain in the air. I could smell it and it was wonderful. It was the first morning when I could actually smell the scents in the air.

Since I had Covid I have found that my sense of smell which was really strong has become very weak.. It has been annoying but really in the greater scheme of things something rather minor. This morning when I got that smell of rain in the air it was brilliant.

I know it means that there is rain for the day or at least for the morning and for some this will not be good. Then again I think all the plants and trees have had to go through so much this year that they will be nourished by this gentle rain.

It has been a strange year weather wise but I am thinkful for this delicate gentle rain this morning.
