Environmentally Unfriendly? Really?
I am now sorely tired with the way the concept of sending Christmas cards is being hit on the head by those who have decide it is environmentally unfriendly.

Rugby Union World Cup and Its Memories
Each rugby World cup has been so different. 1991 and the first female President of Ireland, Mary Robinson greeted the players on the pitch.

The Library of Today
This morning I got a reminder that my book would be shortly overdue. I was trying to work out when I could get down to the library when I read my text message again. There was a link to a website so I could renew online.
Summer Solstice
"Pooh to the rescue" I thought as I wrapped my hands around an early cuppa. It was neither night nor day. There was the tantalizing hint of the approach of a sunrise, but the chill still lingered.

World Book Day
World Book Day. What a day to celebrate. Could you imagine not having a book? It is something I really can't imagine.

Balanced Life?

Today It means something

National Author's Day
Today in some countries national authors are celebrated. Who would be the national author I would like to be celebrated?

A Small Gesture
What are the little things which give you a lift? What are those things which make you stop and feel thankful?

Where Have I heard that Line?
Do you ever find that a poem, piece of writing, a song lyric will resonate with you one day and on another day will have no impact?

Library and Craftsmanship
As you know by now paper is important to me together with pens. Places where the two come together hold a fascination for me.

In Anticipation of Spring
For those looking forward to the days lengthening and the coming of spring. This poem was written by Paula Meehan.

Gladden the Heart
I remember when I was quite young I heard the expression “to gladden the heart”. It was years before I actually understood what it meant.
